Reigning champion Button back with a bang

After Bahrain GP everyone was saying that it will be very tough for Jensen Button to retain his championship but in Qantas he showed why he is still a favorite to win the championship by completing a very clean race and ending it with good 12sec margin ahead of the second position Robert Kubica, Felipe Massa completing the podium places by finishing third.

But it was Fernando Alonso who stole the complete attention by first having to go through a very bad accident in the very first lap of the race, which took Micheal Schumacher along with him for whom this was another not so good race keeping in mind his past reputation, and Alonso began the fight back and managed to end the race with healthy 4th place finish.

Australian Grand Prix is always full of drama and incidences and the qualifying session was full of that but the biggest surprise of the race was Lewis Hamilton not making it to the Q3 and ending the qualifying session at the 11th position.

But at the end of the qualifying session it was once again Sabastian vettel who managed to grab the 2nd pole position in a row and 7th of his career with a hope that his car might last for the complete race this time as he had to settle for the 4th position in the last race because of the exhaust problem in his car. As far as the Ferrari is concerned they had to settle for the 3rd position in the qualifying as Fernando Alonso qualified at the 3rd position, Micheal Schumacher is yet to make his comeback something to remember for as he qualified once again in the 7th position for the race but with the prediction that this race could be the first wet race of the season the champion of the wet races Schumi will be ready to grab every opportunity.

The beautiful game

It was probably 2 am in the morning I along with my brother were glued to the TV, It was the conclusion of the biggest sports extravaganza in the world where France (my favorite team in that world cup) was playing Italy and it was that very moment when we saw the most heartbreaking incidence in the football history if not the sports history when French player Zinedine zidane (My all time favorite football player) head butt the Italian Player Materazzi as a result Zidane had to leave the ground and later Italy won the match in the penalty shootout 5-3 after ending the normal playing time and extra time with 1-1 score line.

Now the countdown has begun to face the same tension and to watch the biggest sporting event in the world where 32 teams will be playing for the glory, pride and most importantly FIFA World cup 2010 which is scheduled to be held in South Africa, the country which will make history by hosting the event for the first time in African Continent.

First match of the day was between probably Asian last hope Korea vs. New Zealand but the way game went it was bit like hopes shattered as Korea was 2-0 down in the first half in the second half Korea tried their heart out to level but they could only manage to score 1 goal in reply match ending with a score line of 2-1 in favor of New Zealand.

First match of the day was between the champion vs minnows affair , Germany was playing against canada and the difference between the teams was quite evident from the very beginning as Germany scored in the 3rd minute of the game and after that it was like a goal feast for the Germany and Germany was 4-0 up in the half time and they scored two more goals in the second half

It was a day of disarray and disappointment for the hosts as biggest contender of the world cup Australia thrashed India 5-2 . The game began with usual Australian attacking hockey from beginning and within few minutes of the start of match Australia was 2-0 up and 5 minutes left for the half time Australia scored one more time scoreline 3-0 but Vikram pillay gane some hope to India crowd by scoring last minute goal in the first half .
